At Art Center, May 1985: Mobile automated territorial things What is a "mobile automated territorial thing"? You've got thirty seconds to answer. But, unless you're in the Environmental Design program, you won't know, so I'll tell you. The "mobile automated territorial thing" (M.A.T.T. for short) is a user-friendly, office-friendly system of components, designed for a project sponsored by Haworth, Inc., one of the nation's leading office furnishings manufacturers. The future itself must catch up with the ideas put forth in this "blue-sky" project. Seven groups of students worked under direction of Gaylord Eckles, Environmental Design program coordinator, and instructors Laurence Deutsch and Christian Krake.
