General note
At Art Center, January 1984: Antonio at Art Center Art Center "went Antonio" for three days in September, when Antonio Lopez, America's leading fashion illustrator, demonstrated drawing techniques during the annual summer session workshop for advanced illustration majors. Professional models posed to musical accompaniment in Art Center's photo/film stage 2 while Antonio sketched and critiqued student work. Antonio is credited with popularizing the "retro" look in Paris during the early seventies. Like Warhol, Antonio's lifestyle, hangouts and friends became "art." His book, "Antonio's Girls," includes images of women he worked with in Paris during this period who have gone on to become top models and actresses--Jessica Lange, Grace Jones, Jerry Hall, Pat Cleveland and Tina Chow.
