Idealab sponsored project: This project will involve product design students researching how solar energy can be deployed, and methods to invent cost-effective and customer-desired solutions. The class will explore solar electricity, solar heating and cooling, solar refrigeration, solar pumping, solar desalination, and solar hydrogen generation. Potential markets include residential, commercial, emergency and remote backup, as well as the use in third world countries. Students will also be asked to understand fundamental architecture and building design as well as aftermarket installable and retrofit products
