Caterpillar sponsored project: Enterprise Industrial Design Strategy-working with product design and transportation design students, the challenge from Caterpillar is to design and brand a range of products that carries the themes of intuitive, durable, rugged and powerful. Creating a full line of engines, from vacuum cleaners to oceanliners, for the future, will incorporate styling and branding while taking into account current and future technology. Students will be asked to consider application of their solutions and who is the end-customer. This challenge will help provide Caterpillar's management with a better understanding of how design can influence the future 2014 to 2025.
