General Motors sponsored project: GM in Emerging Asian Markets: to ensure its position as the number one carmaker in China, General Motors challenged Transportation Design students to consider what kinds of products will be produced 15 years from now. Students were asked to consider other emerging economies and how these differences would be reflected in the products sold there. Students were also expected to fully understand both the infrastructure and cultural parameters of the Asian consumers. In addition, students explored new technologies that will be appropriate and relevant to their conceptual vehicles.
