General note

Developments at Art Center, February/March 1984: AMC/Renault Jeep Project Gathers Speed Transportation students in Keith Teter's and Richard Hutting's advanced class are busily designing variations on one of the world's best recognized forms: the Jeep. AMC Design Vice President and Art Center alumnus Dick Teague; Vice President of Product Planning and Program Management John Mowrey; and Director of Advanced Product and Market Planning Jim Murphy will join Renault's Chef de Style Robert Opron and designer Francois Venet for presentations and review sessions during the spring term. To date, the AMC/Renault representatives have reviewed individual designs and selected three for further development by student teams. Inspiration for the transportation majors is near at hand: a Jeep Cherokee Chief and Jeep Renegade will be on campus for the duration of the project.
