Note générale
Johnson Controls sponsored project: Mobility & The Driven Environment: Building on Johnson Controls' expertise with control systems and vehicle interiors, and Immersion's expertise in Haptic Technology, Environmental, Film, Graphic Design, Product, and Transportation students were asked to examine the future of the interface between vehicle and its occupants. The focus of the research and ideation was the "interactive experience" of driving (passengers included) - accessing and distributing information, to create a safe, comfortable and entertaining experience. Students were asked to choose a "user demographic" and propose design solutions in the spirit of the project theme. The "user demographics" included unique groupings of key attributes and characteristics; for example, those who have partially or completely lost personal mobility (through illness, age, accident). Guest lectures and documentation for the project were facilitated by Designmatters, a College-wide initiative that explores the social and humanitarian benefits of design and responsible business. (with Environmental, Film, Graphic Design and Product)
