Photography Department Book, circa 1941

This Photography Department book was most likely created as a promotional tool to advertise the school's photography program. It includes images of the school's laboratories, photo stages, and equipment, as well as the students and faculty (the first three pages are 24 faculty portraits). Of special interest are the images of location shoots around Southern California. The book is unbound (previously spiral bound) without a cover.

Letter to Former Classmates, 1943

Bill Meriwether, while stationed in Iceland during World War II, wrote this letter to his Photography classmates who attended Art Center in 1942. He lists faculty and students alphabetically and gives updates on their activities and addresses after the war scattered them.

These 11 poster boards each have two photographs of a Photography Department beach party after World War II. The first board has an opening "letter" addressed to Dear Tom which describes the day. The same handwriting captions the photographs and identifies many of the attendees.
