Biographical history
Wynn Hammer (PHOT 1947) was born on March 6, 1924 in the Bronx, New York. He started Art Center College of Design in 1943, but left to join the Army's Signal Corps in World War II. In 1945, he returned to Art Center, graduating in 1947. For the majority of his career, Hammer worked in Hollywood where he was a still photographer for MGM, Universal, 20th Century Fox and Paramount. He also worked for local television station affiliates of CBS and NBC. He died on May 2, 2021 in Los Angeles.

Scope and content
The Wynn Hammer papers are mainly images taken by Hammer while he was a student for class assignments. Also included are a few papers from Art Center during that time, articles from photography magazines, and later photographs of Ansel Adams.
