Biographical history

Daniel Otto (PHOT 1940) was born in Park River, North Dakota on September 9, 1915. After he graduated from the Art Center School in 1940, he served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He later taught in the Art Center Photography Department. The Daniel H. and Mary S. Otto Endowed Scholarship was established in memory of him and his wife, Mary Smith Otto (PHOT 1948). He died in San Diego on November 6, 1992.
