Jason Hailey (PHOT 1951) was born on March 04, 1925 in St. Petersburg, Florida. After serving as a Navy photographer during World War II (1943-1946), he studied art and photography at the University of Florida, USC, and Chouinard, before entering the Art Center School in 1949. After graduating, he started his career in advertising photography and in 1954 opened a studio in Los Angeles (designed by Craig Ellwood). He taught in the Photography Department at Art Center, 1962-1965. He left advertising for fine art projects in 1986 and documentary videography in the early 2000s. He died on July 06, 2016.

The Jason Hailey photographs are mainly images taken by or of Hailey while he was a student in the Photography Department. Also included are a course announcement, syllabus, and photographs from when he returned to Art Center as an instructor. The exhibition announcement is for a photography show he was in with other Art Center alumni.
